Step 7: One last sail to end the adventure

After the hike, it’s time to get back on the Loire one last time.

Unfold your packrafts again, inflate them calmly, and prepare your equipment for this final stretch on the water. Here, the Loire widens, the landscape opens up, and the atmosphere gradually changes.

As you move forward, you will pass along Saumur, renowned for its remarkable heritage. You will notably catch sight of the majestic Château de Saumur overlooking the river, as well as the quays lined with beautiful façades and historic buildings typical of the region.

As you continue towards Saumur, be especially vigilant when approaching the railway bridge, which marks the entrance into a more urban area.

From this point on, you will clearly spot Île d’Offard, your final landmark.

👉 Be sure to stay on the main channel of the Loire, keeping the island on your right, to navigate along the correct route. You will then follow the quays with open views over the town, offering a striking contrast with the wilder sections you experienced earlier.

Your arrival point is located just after the Pont Cessart, on the right bank. Be sure to follow the GPS point carefully to locate the exact landing area.

Édouard will be waiting there to welcome you and collect the equipment.

Take your time to get out of the water, fold your packrafts, and gather your gear.

This marks the official end of your adventure.
