Step 5: Sailing between the base and Turquant

After a good night’s rest, it’s time for a new day of adventure on the Loire.

In the morning, you will resume your navigation from the campsite. This time, it’s a shorter route—perfect for getting back into motion gently and reconnecting with your paddling rhythm.

You will glide peacefully towards the launch ramp at Turquant. Along the way, you will follow the riverbank, with beautiful views of Candes-Saint-Martin and Montsoreau, as well as its iconic château set right by the water.

The navigation then continues in a more natural and untamed atmosphere, where the Loire fully reclaims its space, offering a true sense of calm and immersion in a preserved landscape.

Be especially vigilant as you approach bridges: debris such as trees, branches, and driftwood can accumulate near the pillars. These obstacles are easy to avoid by following the correct passage, usually indicated by the main channel. Be sure to anticipate your trajectory.
