Stage 5: Boating on the Savières Canal

As planned, we recommend being on the water before 10:30 AM. The Canal de Savières is a beautiful place, but it gets very busy in summer. To fully enjoy the peace and avoid motorboat traffic (and their fuel fumes), it’s best to head out early.

You will glide peacefully along the canal’s lush green banks, in a calm and refreshing atmosphere, all the way to the charming village of Chanaz, officially recognized as a “Petite Cité de Caractère.”

Upon arrival, you will see several pontoons. The easiest option is to continue a bit further. We recommend carefully following the route shown on the map as well as the GPS track: you will then take a discreet small channel on your right, which will lead you behind a small lake. There, you can land easily at a public launch area.
