Stage 2: Boating on Lake Bourget

That's it, it's time to get on the water. To do this, inflate your packraft on the grass (avoid sharp surfaces). Assemble your paddle, carefully checking that the metal connectors are securely locked in place. Then put on your life jacket, which is mandatory even in good weather. For more details on inflating your packraft, please refer to the “Tutorial” tab.

When everything is ready, carefully enter the water up to your knees to protect your boat, then start paddling by heading left towards Conjux. Take the time to admire the abbey from the water: this historic site is still inhabited by monks and it is forbidden to disembark there. Continue paddling along the coast and explore the wild caves carved into the rock. Shortly afterwards, you will see pretty houses as you pass the beaches and the small port of Conjux. Continue gliding along the reed beds until you reach the north shore of the lake, lined with magnificent houses on the water's edge (these are private beaches, so it is forbidden to land there).

Finish your crossing by passing the Château de Châtillon, majestically perched on its rock. Your landing place is just beyond, on the beaches to the right of the castle. Remember to always stay close to the shore, as packrafting is strictly prohibited in the center of the lake.
