Stage 1: Hike to the lake

The route starts near Lucey, quickly leaving the village to follow a gentle climb through the hillsides. The ascent is steady, passing through vineyards, woodland, and offering the first open views over the surrounding countryside.

You then pass through Crémon and continue towards Conque à Bornie. The trail alternates between forest sections and more open areas, with a few slightly steeper climbs, particularly near Croix de l’Hiver.

About halfway along the route, a short out-and-back detour leads to a viewpoint overlooking the Rhône and the Ain rivers. It’s an ideal spot to take a break before continuing.

The route then heads towards Curtilles and Le Mollard on easier, rolling paths, before reaching Saint-Pierre-de-Curtille. This section is more open, with stretches along fields and through the village.

After Saint-Pierre-de-Curtille, the trail climbs again towards La Côte. This section follows a balcony path with occasional views over Lake Bourget, before beginning the descent.

The final part leads down towards Conjux on a pleasant path, gradually returning to the lakeshore and the village.
