Stage 1: Hike across the Roc de Chère

Your hike begins in Menthon-Saint-Bernard. You’ll quickly leave the village behind and follow a forest trail that gradually climbs into the heart of the Roc de Chère Nature Reserve. The ascent is steady, winding through woodland with the first beautiful views over Lake Annecy and the surrounding mountains.

The trail then leads to the Roc de Chère viewpoint, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Annecy and the Bauges Massif.

From there, you’ll begin the descent toward the lake, where your packrafting adventure starts. Please note that some sections of the descent are steep and can be slippery, so take your time and watch your footing.
